
Biography
Brighton is a Chicagoland based lighting designer and technician. When working on a production, Brighton strives to find the message at its heart and bring it to light. He believes that there is a beauty to light in everyday life, and such beauty should be reflected and amplified on stage. Through his use of strong colour dichotomies, emphasized shadows, and dazzling effects, it is Brighton's ambition to bring spectacle and mystery to the forefront of story telling.
He has previously designed shows at North Central College, the Little Mountain Community Theatre, and Lisle High School. Some of his past credits include Assassins, Heathers: the Musical, A Devil Comes to Town, This is Not the Reunion and the Explore the Sound concert series.
Brighton has served as the assistant to several local designers including Ruby Lowe, Brian Redfern, and Angela Kvitek. His assistant credits cover various local companies including: Theatre Wit, Yellow Box, and Raven. Brighton has also worked with a number of local theatre groups such as Little Mountain, Schaumburg on Stage, Point 2 Productions, and Theatre for Charity.
Brighton has previously worked with the Fine Arts Production Staff at North Central College, and has worked on various orchestral events, theatrical performances, and presented concerts. He received his B.A. in Theatrical Design and Technology at North Central College. While at NCC, Brighton was under the mentorship of Brian Redfern, Andrew Butler, Colin Trevor, and Ruby Lowe.
